I overheard him on the telephone saying he was a turd burglar and now Im worried he will go to jail for theft.
Can he be saved?

There is no hope, once you start doing that, you have to get bigger and better turds! It is an addiction!

If you really care about your friend, I think that you should seek help from an NGO who is able to provide assistance.
Not all burglars end up in jail, some of them end up worse and hope that you are able to understand the word worse.
Your friend might take it against you at the beginning, but if he/she manages to get out of the bad habit then one day you are going to become his/her guardian angel.

No, your friend is doing the world a great service by taking all the turd, now the world will be a cleaner, less smelly place.

Are you worried that he WILL go to jail, or that he WON'T go to jail?
Is he under 18? If so, tell his parents. If not, talk to HIM for a long time before you talk to the police, unless you are TRYING to get him busted.
