it would change a lot of things. i'd go meet them and attempt to learn something of their culture and technology instead of going to work. almost instantly i would forget about my day to day mundane thoughts and activate the portions of my brain that are used for learning.

Well, yes, for several reasons. :)
A backyard would have to magically appear behind my apartment... lol
There are woods back there, so after I realized what happened, I'd laugh at the aliens' bad aim.
I'd be really surprised and incredibly curious.
My views would probably change because I don't have any decided beliefs right now on the topic.

The bright lights from the alien aircraft would obstruct me from getting a good view of stars in the night sky. And by 'Alien Aircraft' you don't mean a plane from Mexico with stowaways in it right?

I really don't think it would change my view. But I would be the first to get close to the aircraft and get some pictures. I really don't think we are alone out there. There must be other life out there somewhere.

If a UFO landed in my backyard I would go see who they were
and go with them if I could. Only then would I truly have a view
of the universe.

It would. Not because I think aliens don't exsist (I do), but because I refuse to believe we're important enough for a greater intelligent civilization to freakin travel so many lightyears all the way over here to see our boondock planet.

Yes it would as it would show me that there are idiotic life forms out there too (so far, aliens have been smart and stayed away from earth!)
