I find Limewire the best but, as with any downloading site, make sure you have a good anti-virus package first.
Download Limewire basic for free and then search for Limewire Pro and download it from someone else. When you have downloaded it, unzip it and you then have Limewire Pro, for free. I did it after reading how in answers to someone else's question and it works.

everyone says limewire, but i find bareshare good. It also searches limewire results anyway, and less crap with it, but then i paid them £20, so its spam free. On that note, i used a credit card 8 mths ago, no probs or theft of its details since, so i can vouch for it. I have reformatted, and, put the pro versions on all 3 of my pc's (as allowed) and have no probs loading and re loading the paid for version. To date, in entertainment alone (never mind making numerous cd's for GF, self, kids, kids mates...putting obscure tunes up on this site for people) has been worth the money, let alone all the stuff ive got copies off.
Downside? the search engine looks for what you type, un corrected, unintelligent, and as others have labelled, or mispelled the tunes, so its type in several spellings, and so on...and, its not good for whole albums, from a title. searches for "whole album" are better, though you have to sift through loads.
Overall, bearshare, GREAT for single tunes, old stuff (video makers, looking for themes) obscure stuff, recent stuff (singles) and speed, and ease of use. Like every program, its a learning curve, getting to use it efficiently, and working its basic search engine, to find the masses of stuff it has got.

Limewire, you can get loadsa music here and also come across lots of different versions of songs your after with artists recording with other singers and lots of other artists who youd never know sang same songs.

I know I am a little off topic, but what do you think of electronic music nowdays?

iTunes is very good. Reliable, not illegal, never lets you down!
I'd say be scepticle of limewire. Doesn't seem so safe. :s
