they are worth $1 ea. go to a bank and ask for them. you can also get them in change at the Post Office when buying stamps in the machines.
Banks and Government offices are trying their best to keep these stupid coins in circulation so it should be an easy matter of getting them. remember there were over 800 million of them struck.
If you are looking to collect them, there are 13 varieties only 1 of which is worth anything. Circulating coins are of little value beyond face value but Proofs will have a premium attached and are usually only available at a coin shop.

The Susan B. Anthony Dollar was manufactured in
only four years; 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1999.
For such a short lived coin, there are a number of varieties to collect.
In 1979 Philadelphia struck coins, there is the Type I with a thick rim, and a Type II with a thin rim.
The 1979-S has a filled "S" mintmark, and a clear "S" mintmark. There is also a variety where the third star is much smaller then the rest.
The1980-S has shown two different styles of "S" mintmarks, and the 1981-S has had an "S" mintmark that looks like an "8" along with the regular "S" mintmark.
Look for those on the Proof coins.

The common ones are still around try a local bank. Some rest stops that have machines that take a dollar for an item, may have a change machine that has them in it. Large post offices had them in a change machines at one time. They minted in 1979 alone, 360,222,000 at Philadelphia mint, 288,015,744 at Denver mint and 109,576.000 at the San Francisco mint. In 1980 27,610,000 at Philadelphia,41,628,708 at Denver and 20,422,000 at San Fransisco. The 1981 issue was only available in mint sets. The in 1999 they minted 29,592,000 Philadelphia and 11,776,000. So they are out there. A 1979 wide rim variety $50.00, a 1979-S proof with clear S $125.00, a 1981-S with clear-S $240.00, the 1999-S proofs $40.00, as well as the other date proofs $10.00 each date. Best bet, try a lot of banks. They will be glad to get rid of them. The above prices are a close to retail, for any of them see a dealer.

This may sound silly and obvious but try calling your bank. They are still in circulation. You never know when some college kid paid the pizza delivery guy with them. Unfortunately, I don't think they're worth very much, probably never will, their were just too many made.
