Bloomingdales isnt "considered" expensive, it IS expensive.

I don't know where you are located so I'm not sure if these references will mean anything to you but here goes:

1. A half of step to a full step above a Macy*s in terms of brands carried and associated prices
2. In line (with prices not cache or style) with Nordstrom's
3. A half of step below Neiman Marcus
4. A full step below Barneys and Henri Bendel's

Comparable to Lord and Taylor or maybe Norstrom. A step up from Macy's but I guess it depends on what you consider expensive

Its a VERY upscale ladies store in NYC. And Yes its VERY expensive.
