I don't want to spend a butt load of money on maternity pants. I wear a 36" inseam so pants for me would be really expansive, I have very long legs! If I buy one size larger in my regular jeans, would I fit into them the whole pregnancy? I've never been pregnant before. Has anybody managed to do this?

I have a 38 inch inseam and regular Maternity pants are doing OK for me so far. In fact they are a bit too long. I am pretty sure they will be waders by the time I deliver. I got them at Motherhood for 20 and 25 respectively. I have looked for long length pants and so far no luck . The ones I did find were way too expensive. My first pregnancy, I wore knit stretch pants a couple of sizes too big through out my pregnancy. Again they were way short by the time I delivered. Your regular jeans a size bigger will most likely not work. If you live in a warmer climate, you can wear capris or skirts. good luck.

Before my last pregnancy wore a size 18 pants and at the end of my pregnancy I would wear size 20 pants for regular and not maternity. So if you are asking if you can just wear a size or two larger regular pants instead of buying maternity pants, then you probably could get away with it. They may fit kind of funny and you may want to look for a tie or elastic waist band instead of fitted.

I was able to fit in to my regular jeans until I was about 4 months pregnant (and I even had the super low cut jeans, which I thought would just sit lower than my growing belly), then I had to turn to maternity clothes.

I did try to buy "regular" jeans in a size bigger than my normal size, but they are just not designed for a belly as big as a basketball.

Plus, for most people, the shape of your body does change, other than your belly. Such as adding on weight in your legs or behind.

I bought two pairs of maternity jeans, and two pairs of shorts, and just made due with that as I did not want to spend tons of money on clothes that I would only wear a few months. Sweat pants and other loose fitting clothes can be great an inexpensive choices, and you can wear them even after the baby is born.

Yes, I wore regular clothes--shirts and jeans my whole pregnancy. I went up a size once and that was it. I was pretty small during my whole pregnancy though. most people didn't even realize I was pregnant until I got to about 6-7 months along. I do not think that maternity clothes are necessary. Most of the ones that I have seen are hideous anyway. Just go up a size and buy shirts that are alittle bigger to give you room for your growing belly.

Before I got pregant I had always worn my pants big, when I was pregnant I never got big, infact no one knew I was pregnant. When I was 35 weeks I was still wearing the pants I had from before I was pregnant. I neve bought maternity clothes. At 35 weeks I looked to be about 8-10 weeks along. I never lost sight of my feet and my belly button never looked different. For the most part though women get big and have to always buy maternity clothes.

To answer your question it can happen but not likely.

Sorry you will have to come out of pocket or at least invest in sweats if you don't want to spend a lot of money, Oh or at most pregnancy stores they sell and extension it hooks onto pants and it covers up the zipper part so you can still wear your same clothes there expensive and you usually need more then on color to pull of that look.

Good luck!!! lol It would be a nice thing if I could still fit in my same jeans, but at the same time I don't think that it's very safe. You have to give your belly room to grow.
If you can't afford maternity clothes wear your special someones clothes, borrow from friends, or go to a hand me down store.

Nope! EVERYTHING gets pregnant when you are pregnant... your butt, thighs, belly - maternity clothing is cut to accomodate that growth - regular pants aren't. H&M and Target are also good places to get maternity clothing and not spend a ton of money - (I am a 34" inseam... i feel your pain!)
