Check www.snopes.com----good site for verifying urban legends and rumors----type Gulf war syndrome in the search engine box.

The rumor's been going around since around 1998. There are a number of links at the site discussing this myth.

Do you think that is more likely than the uranium-tip armor piercing shells that were in use for the first time during that war? Diet cola is still pretty cheap so I would think that there would be a lot of people who drink it without being in that war. However I haven't heard that people at home also got Gulf War Syndrome.

I also haven't heard that diet cola was given to troops for free.

I have heard that the Gulf War was started as a popularity incentive by a senile autocrat in USA.

It is very possible that his senility has been enhanced by exposure to free Diet Coke, but that may be an apocryphal story.

NO. Thought it might have a lot to do with the bombs and bullets as well as seeing bits of people flying about.
