my ex said he was cutting contact with me but why does he try and contact me? why would he do that?is he confused or is he playing games?

probably a combo of the 2. just don't respond no matter how he tries to contact you (don't answer his phone calls, ignore his text messages, delete his e-mails, etc) he's an ex and leave it at that!!

This all depends on what kind of break up it was. good bad or ugly
good= He made a rash decision and would like to be friends or is tired of using his hand
bad= he is trying to make sure that you have a hard time moving on. and he is tired of using his hand
Ugly= he is playing games and trying to confuse you to make you feel bad and he has blisters on both of his hands.
