I noticed that a lot of people were complaining about things being reported and I assume deleted or something. What types of things(other than profanity) would cause a question or answer to be deleted? What happens when something is reported? Is the person being reported against notified?

If you click onto the little blue flag beneath someone's question, you'll see an entire list of reasons someone can be reported. Just DON'T hit send. And, yes, you are notified when you are reported and if your question gets removed you lose 10 points.

Inappropriate questions or answers are the ones where someone cusses, name calling, adult content, etc. Some people just report anything they don't like.

If something is reported you get an email from yahoo. Then you can send a email to appeal it.

The person sending the complaint isn't notifed.

If you say something that is true about a liberal they will report you and it automatically gets pulled. But they spread lies like their daughters spread diseases. This should get pulled.
