I would like to throw a concert for a community project, need advises on how to set up the event and how to gain sponsors.

take a poll around the neighborhood to find out what kind of music the towenpeople in the area like the most, play that genre. Find a guitar store, or nay music store for sponsers. For food, maybe get a local school, girl scout troop, or boy scout troop to do some baking and raise money for their troop or school. Get some friends to make it fun for anyone, young and old. Rent a jolly jumper or something bouncy for younger kids, a dunk tank for the older, or anything like that.

talk to your university managers, ask them about guidelines. set up a designated for the concert. make sure to do it when your not disturbing anyone. get a sponsor to support you. then all you kneed are some amps and a stage.

you need to inspect classes that goth/emo/punks are into which incorporate artwork, literature or song. Make flyers and submit them close to those classes and notice what occurs. i think of a masquerade ball throughout the time of Halloween could be a cool experience for such an interstitial team of folk. stable luck.
