That depends... With the linux kit that was supposed to be for PS but the US won't let be sold on US soil. PS was better. You was even able to upgrade your system to a 250Gb HDD, and run backups for your games so you didn't have to always insert disks. but it was also a PC and media player.
XBox was ok, graphics were cool in the games buy games didn't have much depth, mostly for shooters and sports, But not character games like the PS.
With known mods... PS is still the best... but you'd have to leave the states to get things and hand peice them together... So for convience, Xbox... easier to mod if you wanted. too easy to mess up the moddings, though. less stable.
My gaming center has both. we've sent back more xboxes then PSx and more customers go for the PSx then for Xbox. World wide more gamers I know are using PSx and not as many hardcore gamers buy an xbox they are usually given to them as gifts and only used when they are really bored or if a game in there series is sold in xbox and they want to compare the gameplay. xbox games are more graphic oriented but not as well written. But the gamers really got into the PSx games, although many feel the PSx games don't give enough gameplay per game.

grafics are in no way "the same" the xbox is about 8 times faster than ps2... i would agree that ps2 controller is better... but xbox360 controls are the best. ps2 is VERY slow compared to xbox v1! same game on ps2 vs. xbox??? xbox wins.. hands down!!
