What the devil does LOL /Lol mean? It keeps cropping up in Answers and I'm beginning to feel left out!!

I am not, contrary to popular belief, older than dirt. I will admit, when I was born rocks were still experimental but dirt was everywhere.
Seriously, I am one of the guys who doesn't speak the text language a lot of folks use. Most of it I ignore but if I feel a need to know something I use the site listed below. It is large but if you select the first letter of the word the page will offer a window at the bottom that allows you to jump directly to the word you are searching for. I have found it to be very helpful the few times I have used it.
Good hunting and remember "The older the violin the sweeter the music". That's a great concept as long as the batteries in my hearing aids hold out.

I know what you mean love when I first started using the computer I didn't know what loads of words meant but i guess it is the new language for the yonger age. It makes me feel ancient too but i finally got round it and it means laughing out loud. rofl means - rolling on floor laughing, lamo - means laughing my a@s off, omg - means oh my god. Jw means - just wondering and oj means - only joking. There are soo many I cannot keep track, they seem to make them up every day, but if i remember anymore, i will inform you. :-)

It can mean lots of love but, usually, it means laugh out loud or laughing out loud. LOLROF means Laughing out loud, rolling on floor.

LOL means laugh out loud. I think its dumb. Surely, if it was that funny the person would laugh spontaneously anyway without somebody having to tell them to.
