A verbal agreement is as binding as a written one. It's just harder to prove.
But why would you want to lie and cheat someone when they were nice enough to help you out with the loan?
Integrity is the most important thing a person can have. Lie and cheat and no one will trust you again.

Yeah, watch Judge Judy or Judge Joe Brown...a bunch of trashy people.

You can sue someone for anything. It's ridiculous how much time and money is wasted on this crap.

I hope you're the one potentially getting sued, not the person suing.

Possibly if you had a verbal agreement. Well, they can sue you for anything, but I doubt they would have much of a case unless it was a sizeable amount of money.

You can be sued because your neighbor thinks you painted your house purple to spite him.

Suing is done by the person who feels they were wronged. THey don't have to be right.

The judge will talk to you both and if he feels you are being honest and it was a gift, you will win your case.

no. there is no binding proof that they ever lend u money. But hey the right thing to do is to pay that money back.
