This is a series of 6 pen on paper about 8X10 dancer sketches of dancers in rehersal at a ballet bar or studio. There isn't a lot of detail in the drawings, mostly simple line drawings. I inherated these from a friend that would have collected these between 1930 - 1960.

i doubt that they are originals but you would have to go to a very fine art dealer or someone like christies auction and they will charge you quite a bit to tell you they arent real.

Ya definetly try to seek out a professional at a gallery or museum. In addition, study as much picasso as you can. Artists often have funny little nuances to there work that is unique to the artist. I did some picasso line drawings on display at a traveling picasso exhibit, amazing pieces!!

Also, this may sound weird, but try looking at the Antiques Roadshow calendar on there website. If you had a chance to make it to one of there shows, they might be able to help for little or no cost!

Awesome, I'm totally jealous!!!

Wow. That's pretty nice. I would suggest first going to a number of different dealers or museums. Some dealers may try to rip you off by saying that their real when they might as well be fake. If I was you, I would keep them because they may be rare and it's pretty cool to own something by a legendary artist. I would also make sure their taken care of properly so they do not get damaged in any way. (i.e-framing, etc..)

Contact Christy's or Sotheby's auction houses. They are fully staffed with people whose job it is to authenticate.

Try the antique road show. They have many qualified people on site, plus you will go on TV. Try this. (they travel around the US.)
