Short answer; Yes, yes, a million times yes.
Long answer; It should be banned in the united states as well, considering that the tests run on animals do not result in legit comparisons in humans. Insulin treats diabetes in humans yet causes birth defects in dogs. The driaze test is used to measure how much of a toxin it takes to damage a humans eye-sight. The problem there is that the test is done on rabbits, and rabbits don't have tear-ducts. Let's not forget that the rabbits are kept in vices that grip their heads and force their eyes to remain open. (The rabbit usually breaks his neck trying to get away)
Have you ever heard of "dog labs"? Living dogs are injected with euthanasia so that medical students can cut them open and observe the inner-workings of a living body. The dog usually wakes up and starts thrashing in pain, at which point it's injected with a higher dosage and knocked out again. As if that wasn't bad enough, the last part of the "lab" consists of pumping air into the dog's veins just to watch it's heart stop beating. Fun right/
So yeah, Animal testing should be banned everywhere. Instead they should test chemical toxicity and new cures for AIDS on convicted murderers, rapists and child molesters. That way my tax dollars won't be going to keep them in jail, and before they die they can make a worthwhile contribution to humanity.

Definitely. Animal testing should be ban everywhere, not only in Canada. Just imagine yourself being reincarnated into an animal in your next life. Wouldn't you agree that it's inhumane to do that to poor defenseless creatures?:)
