To reseat your video card you will have to open your computer. If you are comfortable with this here is how you do it. (Be aware this may void your warrenty)

First unplug everything from your computer. Go to a well lighted area not on carpet and set your case on its side. Touch the screw in an electrical socket to ground yourslef. *Note: I am not responsible for any damage you may cause to your computer as a result of these instructions.

1) Unscrew the side of your case. It is usually the left side if you are looking at it from the front.

2) Pull the case side towards the back. It should slide off. Be careful that you dont cut yourslef (I have done that a few times)

3) Locate your video card. You can look at the back of your case for the "monitor" adapter. Usually the video card is the "top" card.

4) Unscrew the video card - there should be a screw on the metal part closest to the back of the computer.

4.5) Unplug the fan from the Motherboard if there is a fan on your video card.

5) If you have an AGP card or a PCI Express card there may be a little plastic clip holding the card in near the "back" of the card. Or the side closest to the front of the computer. If it is there push it towards the "top" of the computer and gently pull up on the video card. Be careful that you do not damage any of the electronics on the card. Try to find a place with out anything sticking up on it that will bend when you pull on it. You may have to apply a bit of force to get the card to come out.

6) Once you pull the card out just push it back in. Be sure it is firmly seated.

7) Put the screw back in to hold the card down. If you unplugged a fan from the card plug that back in.

8)Put the side back on the case and slide it towards the front of the case. It should lock in and all edges be flush with the case.

9) Put any screws you took out back in the case to keep the side on.

10) Plug everything back in and everything should work ok.

Hope this helps....

Sometimes the video card seems to be all the way in the slot when it is not. New graphic cards sometimes need a bit of a push to get them into the slot all the way because they are sometimes tight.

Now it is also important that you learn the manufacturer of your video card, like ATI or Nvidia, etc. and get their latest updates. I remember suddenly having a page that went weird. I went to the nvidia website and downloaded an update. After the update was installed the problem disappeared. If you go to Windows Update then Microsoft will scan your computer to see what you need. Sometimes they have updated drivers for your hardware. This is good when you don't know the manufacturer of the graphic card.

I think you mean "reset" the video card. There are some ways to do it, but I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for. For one, you could uninstall the existing video card drivers, then reinstall them, that way you would in essence have "resetted" your video card. Some video cards also come with a program where you can adjust settings and such, there is probably a button you can press that will reset the settings to factory defaults.
