I have a ring with intricate filigree decoration that needs a real clean, and a pendant where the back has picked up all the sweat from my body and has lost that lovely gold gleam! I have only the stuff in my cupboard! Any suggestions (apart from the obvious - wash more often!!!!)?

The best advice you've been given - an old toothbrush and washing up liquid - if no stones then mix WUL w/boiling water and soak, if w/stones then let water cool and soak longer. May need repeating. Buff w/soft cloth. Be careful w/abrasives, can scratch. Best tip to keep clean? - remove jewellery before using soap. moisturiser etc and put on after perfume -particularly for pearls (to anyone who might want to know!) Hope that helps!

Go to the mall and have a jeweler clean it. They just use water, but it is but into a sonic bath that sort of laser peels the dirt off. Also, you can clean jewelry with toothpase, plus the toothbrush is a good cleaning tool. I would suggest cleaning it that way, with an old toothbrush.

Soak al your gold in pure Washing up liquid, leave for about 1 hr and very gently brush with a soft toothbrush, rinse and dry. You'll be amazed at how they come up. If any stones are in the rings that's fine as well they will come up a treat. PERSIL

coke, vinegar or water with bicarbonate of soad in it will remove any dirt , also use an old toothbrush to get right in to all the small nooks and crannies failing that you will have to take it to a jewellery shop and they will either sell you the right stuff or charge you for their cleaning service.
have fun!
