First of all. You nor anyone else should ever tell a women to do anything at all!! They are human beings just like we are and have the right to be asked to do something not told to do it. My opinion totally but it has always worked for me.

the only time people ever suck up is when they are avoiding a conflict with that person - they are ducking the issue. Or arrogantly putting down the other person by implying they don't take their question seriously.

"suck up" is the correct phrase in this instance. However, I have no idea to what you are referring. And I am woman, and to a significant extent, I do as I please. However, I do work, so I listen to my boss (who at this point is a man), and I am married, so I take my husband's comments and concerns into consideration (as he does mine). But no man tells me what to do - 90% of the time -

You know, there is another current question that starts "why are men so insensitive...." Horses for courses. What is a sensitive reply for one woman is "suck up" for another.
I suppose you like your men to act like men: strong and stupid.

It isn't a suck up question hair ball....I have a wife and five daughters, they deserve respect and equality....and with attitudes like yours I sure hope my daughters never bring one home like you. Actually, I know they won't, I raised em better than that.
