you may have a trojan or virus,, or a glitch,, if you can and can find it,, open your case ( if not under warrenty,,if under warrenty take it to repair shop,,,) and before you do this next step,, make sure you are grounded and have the power cord unplugged form the comp,,,find the jumper on your motherboard that corresponds to the clear CMOS , option and set the jumper to clear for about 5-10 sec,,, then put back to normal ,, restart and reset your bios and see if that works,,,

Could be several things. I have seen this just because a part of the motherboard was in contact with the metal and was shorting it out. You might unseat and reseat your memory sticks and see if that helps. In a situation like this, I take the motherboard out of the case, just in case there is a short and set it on the table. I only hook up the monitor, keyboard and mouse. I disconnect all drives. I then turn on the computer so I can see the POST, the test you see when you turn on your computer. This will tell me if this is strictly a hardware problem, which it probably is. However, strange things happen, and if the POST is successful, then I do the experiment again inside the case. If there is a failure inside the case, and success outside the case, then you have the motherboard contacting metal inside the case somehow some way. If there is success inside the case too, then hook up the drives and boot up in Safe Mode. I also look at the power supply and cpu and fan. Really hard to know for sure unless the computer is in my hands.

You deffinitly have a hardware problem. You probably have a bad RAM chip. Try replacing it and see if you have the same problem. You may also have a damaged motherboard.

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yk5zpr
