The environment comes down to more than just cars. Besides, certain reports on the environmental impact of cars from the beginning of production to the end of their life actually show that so-called "green" cars such as the Toyota Prius actually have a higher environmental impact than many large SUVs due to the materials used and manufacturing methods.

I think it is still perfectly valid to be concerned about the environment and own a car! I drive to work every day - I could be "green" and cycle or take the bus, but neither of those is a pleasant way to travel, especially at this time of year. I do however recycle everything that my local authorities permit and am currently trying to arrange a recycling scheme for the building in which my office is located.

At the end of the day, a celebrity with a Hummer, Ferarri, Mercedes or even a Prius isn't going to make much difference to the environment. If you want to place the blame anywhere, look to the Far-East at countries with exploding populations and industry that is expanding rapidly with little in the way of emissions controls to keep it in check... or, look to yourself the next time you take out the trash!

Finally, just remember this - climate change wiped out the dinosaurs. To my knowledge, fossilised motor-vehicles haven't yet been found!

No more than "Environmentalists" taking bungs from China to keep China out of the Kyoto protocol, and then flying to environmental conferences.
J.K. needs publicity to keep people buying his records CDs whatever and you have just reinforced the correctness of his decision to drive a sports car by drawing attention to him on Yahoo answers

I'm not sure....I don't know much of Jay Kay...but, the truth of the matter is, you actually hurt the environment more by eating meat than you do by driving an SUV...look it up...maybe our priorities are wrong...
