1 dozen = 12
so,
2 dozen is 24
1/2 dozen is 6
so.
2 1/2 dozen = 24+6 = 30
thus its enough for 30 children.

ALTERNATE METHOD
1 DOZEN cupcake is enough for 12 children
[coz 1 dozen has 12 cupcakes]
so,
2 1/2 Dozen cupcake is enough of 12X 2 1/2 = 30 Childrens

Is that two and a half dozen? If so, the answer is thirty. If it's two half dozen, then it's a dozen, or twelve.
