The threat is the one that plays on my mind the most! An eternity of bliss is ok, but an eternity of fire and torment needs careful consideration before being dismissed!

A bribe would be more convincing than a threat.
People are known to think with the attitude "whats in it for me?" So of course the bribe would be more appealing plus the fact that a threat always makes people become defensive and that of course would not help in convincing someone.

Evidence is kinda relative. A Christian can walk into a garden, and see God all around him. An atheist on the other hand, just sees beautiful flowers. The Christian recognizes the source of the flowers' beauty as God, while most atheists attribute their beauty to the random genetic mutations of evolution. Also, as a Christian I'm not motivated by threats, but by promises. "For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever." Psalm 37:28 Edit: Hockuspokess, I'm not motivated by the "bribe of heaven." If the Bible said humans ceased to exist upon death, I would still be a Christian. I don't believe in God just for the benefits. I believe in Him because I have come to know Him through prayer and meditation, and I love Him.

A threat because you might get killed or that person might have a gun to your head, but if i had to choose i would choose a bribe because you can get threatened in many ways.

Well, they both help convince someone.
I would pick the bribe because it makes you think of what you will be WINNING if you go to heaven. Instead of thinking about what you will be LOSING by going to hell.
But, if it's like some little kid that is getting picked on,
"Gimme your lunch money kid, or I'll throw you in the trash"
then, the threat definitely motivates the kid to give the bully his lunch money. haha.
Well, whatever motivates people.
