The time in your menstruation cycle when your ovaries produce eggs that are ready to be fertilized by a man's sperms and make a baby. So the whole idea is if you want to become pregnant have sex a little before ovulation and if you don't want to pregnant avoid intercourse around that time. Ovulation usually takes place 14 days before your next period which is midway between 2 periods for a person with regular cycles. If you have irregular cycles, you can sense ovulation by checking your vaginal discharge. If you have slippery egg-ehite like cervical mucus, then you are ovulating.

Ovulation is the process by which an ovum(egg cell) is released by the ovaries and it then travels through the Fallopian tubes to the uterus(womb) where it will either be fertilised by sperm or not. Ovulation usually takes place round the 14th day of your menstrual cycle. The ovum is passed out of the body(menstruation) if it's not fertilised.

Ovulation is when the ovary releases a ripened egg into the fallopian tube for potential fertilization; it happens *roughly* midway between periods (usually about 12-16 days before your period.)
