Write " I would like to take a vacation day on {insert day and date}."

don't send it by emai it is considered inapproitate to do so, advice him in person by writng you vacation request far enough in advanced as possible it is not uncommon to this many monthe before!!

it should read something like this,

John (or what ever his/name is) I'm requesting Januaray or 21'st - 25 off for my vacation (what ever month and day it is your requesting off! you might also include the reason ie: my cousins is getting maried and I have to fly to the weeding, or my family has planned a family vacation, it is not adviced to do so but it loos better and the chances of getting your request is that much better!!
Then signy your name and date to the note and handd it to him personally, that way you know he recieved it and was not lost in cyber space or it was accidently over looked in his e-mail remember you boss probally gets tons of e-mails a day and loosing it or missplacing it is not uncommon!!

also some company have pre printed forms you need to compleate, so check with you boss on to handel vacation requests all companys are different if he does say to send him a e-mail also write a hand written request as back up and hand it too him then he has no excuse to say he did not recieve it!!! Best of luck to you!!

Keep on YAHOOING!!

Keep it simple!
------
"Dear Sir/Madam,
I would need some time-off from to (add reason if you think it is appropriate. If very personal just add "to attend to some personal matters".). Please consider this email as my official request for vacation. I hope this request can be accommodated.

Thanking you.
Sincerely.

tell him you plan to be sick ( lol )

ask what you can do to lessen the disruption of the off day - phrase it like the decision is already made and you are concerned about the effects DON"T JUST ASK
