The wax you use is regular candle wax. You can put dried herbs, oils, and colors in the wax that are appropriate for the type of magic you wish to do. Vooddo dolls are a type of sympathetic magic that can be very effective if done correctly. Do not forget to have a person item (skin, hair, fingernail, cloth) for the person you are making the doll for. They best used on yourself.

Take a candle (check out Color Magic for symbolism of colors: green for prosperity, red for passion, etc.). Carve words or symbols into it, annoint it with oils, etc.--it's not really an exact science, you just want to kinda make the candle your own, to match your purpose. Burn the candle down to its nub, collect the wax. I don't recomend voodoo dolls in general, but the wax is useful in spiritbags or satchels. If you insist on the voodoo doll, just stuff the wax in a little cloth doll (cotton works best, or leather--nothing synthetic) with sawdust and sandlewood.

It's not smart to mess with something that you aren't good at. Voodoo is not a game and you could seriously hurt yourself or someone else. Be careful! Get help and advise from an expert that can sit with you and help you. This is dangerous stuff. Be careful!
