Should criminals be flogged?

Question

Do you think criminals (men only - over 18) should be given a bare-backed flogging for certain offenses - especially sexual crimes and violent crimes? Say for a certain offense - 10 years in prison plus 1000 lashes, divided into 20 sets of 50 delivered over the prison term? It seems to me like these criminals are just being locked up, but not "punished." I say we lock them up for less time, save some money, but stripe their backs with lashes for their crimes. What do you think?

that would help to keep crime down and how about make prisoner's ride stationary bikes,generating power to keep the prision lights on

It never ceases to amaze me at how many people are so perfect and have never did any wrong, they always find some one who they can hopefully degrade, while at the same time are violating the law in more ways than the so called criminal, have they taken the time to look at them selves , how many speed on the road or? how many other laws do they break , or are they same as Rep, Foley hiding something, Laws are guide lines for all, and of course some will violate them sometimes , some inadvertently but, to some of you goody goods there s no redemption, when they pass a law saying you can't weigh but x amount for you r height some of you fat bas,,,,, will be crying in your soup, it is coming. I will bet that the holys have violated the law and could be doing time now, an old saying is "there are only two kinds of people , the caught and the uncaught

God no! That's just as cruel as some of the things they may be put into jail for. These people need psychological treatment. If we don't understand why they commit crimes then how can we possibly prevent then from happening. If you hurt someone they will only end up angrier then before.
