If you dont want to be called one, than dont act like that stereotype. Does that make sense? All of us stereotype people. I do NOT dislike someone for it, I just know there ARE people that act that certain way, why get upset about it, its who you are, and if you dont like being called a stereotype, than dont act that way, apparently your not comfortable with who you are. Sorry I tried to make sense. lol

I get upset when people stereotype me when they never even met me. So I'm supposed to except that just because I'm black, I am expected to act ghetto and speak broken english? Is that what you're saying?

People dislike being called a stereotype when they feel they are acting unlike that stereotype, and other people are judging them based on it. Also who are you to judge how anyone acts at any given time - all you see is the persona they project to you. Stereotypes prevent you from seeing deep into a personality - a stereotype is far too shallow to describe any real person.

To me, it's like a category. But a lot of ppl morph into two at the same time, and like fads, stereotypes change a lot. Plus, now you have a lot of the preppies who think they're preps, and wear hollister and crap. But they are the opposite. They were the College Preparatory kids who drive nice cars and dress in uniform...

Excuse me miss, I have every right to be angered by stereotypes.

First and foremost, stereotypes are for the lazy-minded.

For example, black women are supposed to be loud, rude, overweight and obnoxious, right?

I am just the opposite, so why is it that we are being stereotyped as such?

People are going to believe what makes them comfortable.
When they see someone who is just as equal to them that's supposed to fit into that group, they are intimidated.

Everything that they have been taught to believe crumbles.
