People are upset with the current internation policy. If the Republican retain control of congress and things do not improve much by 2008, wouldn't that set the stage for a Democratic clean sweep in 2008?
If the Democratics win some control back now, don't you think that would create a share responsibilty if things continue to go badly for the next two years? Wouldn't that give a Republican presidential candidate a better chance of winning in 2008?

I worry more about a Democratic clean sweep in 2008 than the Republicans losing control of the house in 2006.

I don't agree with Bush's foreign policy. But I would hate to see what would happen to this country with the Democratic party in complete control.

You have an interesting take on things (not at all meant to be rude). In my opinion, Democratic victories in the mid term election will benefit the American people.

Well i think it may help republicans who want to stay in office next term become more moderate and work to meet the needs and goals of the people in America for once . They have gotten out of control and need to be reeled in a bit .IT's all pork these days and the only growing private sector is that which is funded by the government .Government jobs are fine and have good benefits and retirement and also government defense contractors pay well and hire ex military to fill jobs .SO the quote" capitalist "economy in america is great if you work for uncle sam .(insert communist party if you like --no differance then the russian party members who had the good jobs while the people got drunk and did not care ).
This is the problem and Bush tries like hell to make a debt look like a credit some how .IF we want to stimulate growth in the economy lets make something that we all can use .Making bombs is a lossing proposition when you think about it .All the money pumped into a war would of been better spent rebuilding New O'rleans even if it flooded again .
Its all busy work at the bottom anyhow .Like we do not make enough food in america to feed all the people and give away tons to the poor .Thats all food stamps are anyhow .
Subsidies for food markets like bread and milk and the cheap meats for stews .The poor have to negotiate the beer wne and liquor out of the food money .
It would be easier to give everyone in america a place to live food water electricity and cable tv or we can house them in jail at almost twice the cost .

Looks like there will definitely be a change in the House and maybe Senate. Depends on if the Democrats can show some spine and actually clean up their own house. I don't think they can get any laws passed, because Bush will simply veto them. Really depends on their level of behavior...But the Republicans are facing bad times...it could get worse if the Dem.'s don't blow it. I think the presidency in 2008 is up for grabs, but it looks to me the Dem.'s will maintain majority in Congress...Like it has been before...Republican pres. and Democrat Congress.

Possibly. But it's also possible that if Democrats regain some control, things may improve in the next two years and they will be attributed for it.

Giving democrats power can not help anyone.Better a dog that barks at the chickens than one that kills them.

I think that what is best for America is important, and not what is best for one party or the other...

How is gridlock good for America?
