It would be easier and a more durable finish if you dye it. Any craft store has dye you by in boxes and mix with warm water.

Sure, It will be easier with a spray paint made for fabric

Yes you can paint them but be Sure you get paint for fabric usuallly at craft stores or your local paint store.
