Actually, putting batteries in the fridge shortens the batteries life. When I was back in High School, we did an experiment in my Electronics class. The batteries that were stored in the fridge seemed to die much faster than those that were stored at regular "room temp."

It is just an old rumor that chilling your batteries in the fridge extends their life.

Yes, it slows down the chemical reaction that is always slowly taking place in the battery. BUT BE WARNED! DONT STORE THEM IN THE FREZER!

Yes it does, But it lasts longer in the fact that they are good for longer as opposed to storing them in a drawer or something. Not last longer in actual use though.

yes, it actually slows down the chemical reaction/deterioration of the materials used in batteries..also film for cameras works fine too

no... for the elctrons to be thus affected, the temperature would have to be lower than a fridge... think about it, 30 degrees is not going to make a difference

The answer is yes and no, depending on who you ask. If you want to store them in the fridge, do so.

No it does not. That is another "Old Wife's Tale". All they do is take up space in the fridge.
