I can't find a yellow and black striped top!? I'm sure it's a very unpopular style because it looks like (duh!) a BEE, but has anyone seen one in any stores?

I tried to dye a black and white shirt, but it was Rayon, and the dye wouldn't stick. I thought about making one, but I couldn't find any striped material. I didn't think about sewing stripes on...good idea.

When my daughter wanted to be a bee, I took her yellow sweatshirt and sewed black stripes of felt onto it. You can do it by hand, you don't need a machine. After the party I slipped the threads back out and took them off the sweatshirt. I actually had more trouble designing the antennae. But that was 29 years ago LOL . . . .

i've only seen one once, smellyfoot. the college in wisconsin i went to had a yellowjacket for a mascot, and they had this huge bee (and an equally large stinger) attending hockey and basketball games. poor thing couldn't sit down though.

georgia tech near you also has a yellowjacket for a mascot. have you checked their bookstore for clothing items? only other suggestion i could give you is to look into some of those striped rugby or polo shirts at discount or used-a-bit clothing stores. would yellow and brown or orange and black work for you?

have fun!

I have not but you cn make one! Just find a yellow shirt- and take black pieces of fabric on it - or you could get a black shirt and put yellow pieces of fabric on it! sewing is the best- glue won't hold very long.

Probably going to be hard to find. Maybe you could just get a BEE costume from a store, rather than putting one together? Definitely not as nice, but you could add your own touches to make it personal. Good luck!
