"I said to free just the GOOD LOOKING slaves!" I mean, why would that matter, and how do they know what he said if he was shot?

Lincoln was always upset about freeing the ugly slaves. To see an ugly man or woman walking down the street always upset him, he dreamt of only a beautiful America.

According to http://members.aol.com/RVSNorton1/Lincoln62.html, his last words were uttered shortly before he was shot:

A young couple, Major Henry Rathbone and Miss Clara Harris, shared the box with the Lincolns. As the play progressed, Mary sat very close to her husband, her hand in his. She whispered to him, "What will Miss Harris think of my hanging on to you so?" The President replied, "She won't think anything about it."
