If that's the only problem you have then it's probably Sky's fault and nothing you can do but wait until the signal comes back. If you have other faults ie. lots of recording failures or other odd things then there could be something wrong with the box. If it persists then you could try ringing Sky technical help and they will talk you through a few tests..... it's cheaper than a call out.You can also try pressing the Services button on your sky remote and then scroll down to system set up, then down to signal test. You should see 4 bars.....2 top and 2 bottom . If you don't then something is wrong

have you tried taking the card out and rubbing the chip with a clean soft cloth or pece of tissue? While you are doing this switch the sky box off and take the plug out. Wait a minute then plug it in and switch it back on then insert the card.
This problem is often caused by static build up, and this is the way to clear it. It will keep going for a while after you have done this.
We had this problem and I phoned Sky for help, and that was the advice I got, and it worked.

i keep getting that what i did was to switch the tv off at the mains and the sky box wait 2 minuets then switch the telly on then switch the box onto standby then switch the box on in my case i went onto sky news and it says searching for listings wait a couple of minuets and see what happens if this problem persists it could be the dish the llnb receiver is damaged or it could be bad weather that knocks sky off if you go into services and go to system set up and go to signal test it will give you your signal strenghth if that fails go into system set up again and make sure all the settings are on if none of that works it could be the sky box i have had mine repaired three times then you will have to call sky hope this helps my friend is a sky engineer

Yep been there. It's yet another way of Sky fleecing you for more money. It seems to happen just after they have rung you with some insurance policy to cover your dish and you don't take it. Funny that.
