In baseball, what is the maximum number of pitches a pitcher can throw to a batter in one at bat. And the batter never swings the bat and there is no foul balls. You might be surprised by the answer....it isn't 7. This has probably been asked here before.

Actually the answer is 11. If the count is 3 and 2 and a runner is caught stealing for the third out, the same batter leads off the next inning. His count starts over again so he can work it to 3 and 2 again. That's 10 pitches. The eleventh pitch the batter hits in fair territory. Wheteher its a hit or not it doesn't matter. There were still eleven pitches and no fouls in one official at bat.

you say maximum number of pitches to a batter in one at bat....once the 3rd out is made, it is a whole new inning even though it will still be the same batter up again..... i wonder how true your answer is
