Yes, but clampers get nasty twinges of conscience that disturb their dreams...

I'm sure they are - after all, they are trying to do a job.

Not sure if you've had a personal conflict with one or not which would explain the reason for the question. I know they do some pretty uptight things and have booked cars in traffic jams for being illegally parked for example, but they don't make the rules, they are robotically doing what they are employed to do, and you've gotta hand it to em for the cheek in some instances.

There are times when I would LOVE to see a traffic warden come up my road, at teatimes and lunchtimes, as they would have a field day booking all of the pr!cks that park on double yellows by the junction next to me - drivers that are too lazy to walk an extra few metres for their fish and chips and therefore cause a hazard at the junction when people are trying to turn in and out of it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not like some uptight old wrinkly who loves to see a good bit of law enforcement.. I just want to stop the hazards being caused near to my house - and there have been a few close calls at that.

Of course, the traffic warden has a wander up the road when the chippy's shut.

Traffic wardens are human believe it or not and I'm sure they sleep at night. If the person gave up being a traffic warden and became a paramedic who saved the life of someone close to you, you would think differently towards them.

Ok - off my high horse now :-)

I'm sure they sleep just fine, they're doing a very good job and are very helpful in situations where there is congestion or traffic lights have failed, the job is based solely on discretion and I can categorically state (as I used to be one) that they do not get commission for the amount of tickets issued.
However, I assume, you are actually referring to Parking Attendants, which are very different to traffic wardens. These are employed by the local authority and not by the Police as traffic wardens are.
At the end of the day, they are just trying to earn a living like the rest of the world.
It's the town planners and the money grabbing councils that should be blamed for the lack of parking spaces, not the parking attendants who in all fairness, have just as much trouble finding a parking space in their private lives as the rest of us.

They are doing their job, earning a living, trying to make ends meet!
Have you ever come across a car parked illegally causing no end of chaos and confusion, because someone has decided the yellow lines mean 'I can park here because no one else matters!'
No, I am not a traffic warden but unfortunately some people think rules are made to be broken, they can't see past their nose end and have no consideration for other people.
If you get a ticket that you didn't deserve you can appeal, you know!

I believe that they occupy the coffins vacated by vampires at night. The vampires do not attack them as their bodily fluids are so bitter.
