There is no way to prevent a miscarriage. Just try to relax and the main thing right now is to take really good care of yourself. Try not to do any heavy lifting or anything too stressful. But there really isn't a way to prevent it. Don't take any medications unless they are approved by your doctor first because they can harm you or the baby. Just don't worry about that right now!

Are you having a miscarriage, or just paranoid? If you are going through a miscarriage, chances are the pregnancy would not have been viable anyway. Generally miscarriages early in pregnancy are due to serious birth defects in the fetus.

You should never take any over the counter medicine while you are pregnant without the consent of your doctor.

Stress, lifting heavy things, hot tubs, saunas, those are all things that can contribute to an early miscarriage.

Pray, then relax. Fear is not good for you or your unborn child. Plus if you read in the book of Job (The Bible) you'll find where he makes the statement " The thing I feared the most has come upon me". I've been through 6 miscarriages, and have 2 children. If it is God's will for this child to be born it will happen. Oh, somethings you need to stay away from are alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, but that's kinda a no brain-er!

I would love to know all the answers to this one so I will read and keep up with them.

I had 2 miscarriages adn both were after my body being jostled around quite a bit....first one I didn't know I was pregnant and I was wrestling around with my brothers and sister and friends....I was 23 I think...we were having fun but the next day.....:( was no fun.

And the second happened after I was on a trailer on the back of a 4 wheeler going thru fields...Again I didn't know I was carrying....Now I am VERY careful to take care of me at ALL times.....

All you can do is take your prenatal vitamins and eat as healthy as possible. If you're religious, try prayer. Also, try your best to keep your stress levels low. I hope everything works out for you. My first pregnancy ended in stillbirth and though it is different than a miscarriage, it is still losing a child. I was so scared after my loss that it cause me to be very scared and very stressed during my second and third pregnancy. My stressed caused alot of complications in my pregnancies. Fortunately, I have two healthy babies here with me now. Again I hope everything works out.

I don't think there is anything that can definitely cause a miscarriage. There is a saying that "you can't shake a good egg loose"....so just use common sense, avoid areas that are not well ventilated, don't use chemicals or house cleaning supplies, or paint the nursery (have your husband do that), be good to your body and try to take it easy. Don't lift anything that you don't have to, and when your body tells you to rest DO IT!

Folic acid is the most important. Plus avoid Hot tubs at all costs- a lot of times there isn't much to do to avoid it, they just happen sometimes.
