no it should have a pitch to it to shed the water....if unlevel then not installed correctly.......cal the installer and stand by with a water hose and show him.......tell him to tear it out, its the best way to fix it right!

I run a landscaping company and the simple answer is no. However what is the patio made of? If its a natural stone material like bluestone, then you will inevitably get small areas in individual pieces of stone that will have bumps, or small depressions that will hold water. However it is made of pavers or bricks, then no. Either way, all patios should have a slight pitch to them to make water run off. The patio itself will not be level if you put a level on it (the bubble on the level should consistently lean slightly towards one line) , but it definitely should be flat (no bumps, humps, and bowls).

Call them back and have them fix it. Be prepared for them to resist if you paid a cheap price for the patio. Hopefully you haven't finished paying them yet because you won't have a lot of leverage otherwise. Unfortunately a lot of landscapers don't always know what they're doing (we've fixed countless patios for people because the original installer did shoddy work) Its usually one of those "you get what you paid for" situations...

Hope that helps some!
