is a 357 mag better than a 45?

two totally different classes of guns. a .357 is a revolver and a .45 is a semi-automatic. Do you mean a .44? because of the three the .44 is the most powerful. of the two, the .357 is a lot more powerful than the .45. but the .45 holds a lot more bullets than the .357. also the .357 has a lot more recoil than the .45. you can check out the different ballistics on smith and wesson's or ruger's or springfield's website

Depends 357 is a good gun to hunt with will take down deer/wild boar.at one time it was the only caliber that most state police will carry but for reloading it was bulkie and took a little getting used to .a 45 cal has allmost the same stopping power it is the preferred gun in federal agencys reloads take under 4 seconds or faster depending on the training

Depends on what you want it for...... I sleep with a loaded .45

If anyone try's to get up my stairs they will me met with a great deal of noise and 7 BIG rounds that will take limbs off if I miss the body.

If your trying to hit a bull at say 50 yards I guess the 357 would be better if it was a long barrel

yes, with a .357 you can fire both .357 and .38 rounds, with a .45 or .38, you can only fire their respective weapons...thus if there is a shortage of ammunition, you have a better chance.

just see the numbers...357 or 45 which one is longer and higher nos.?

.45acp is better against human targets. A .357 is better if you need penetration thru wall, car door ect..
