While yes, women do have some amount of facial hair, this facial hair is minimal in terms of color and thickness. I'm pretty sure you're talking about excessive hair growth to the point of unnatural appearances. This condition is known as hirsutism. It's normally caused by a hormonal imbalance when androgens are hypersecreted by the adrenal cortex. The heightened androgen levels stimulate hair follicles to produce much thicker and darker hair on the surfaces of the face and chest. Low estrogen and progesterone levels (estrogen and progesterone typically oppose androgen stimulated hair growth) further exacerbate hair growth.

All women have facial hair, it just depends on their colouring whether you see it or not.
Some people do have electrolosis to remove it.
Some women have polycystic ovary syndrome and this gives them facial hair, some chest hair (only one or two) as well as other problems.
I'm sorry that you feel you don't want to look at it but I think you'll find that the sufferers would like it to go away too.

Actually, all women have facial hair. It's just that in most women, the hairs are fine, and small and so they aren't really noticeable.

For some it's genetic (usually have it when they are young) and for older women that develop it, it is usually hormonal. Lots of old ladies seem to develop full out whiskers because of hormonal changes from menopause.
