It really isn't a worthwhile exercise, since there is no way of knowing if there is a God or not. If there is God, there is no way of knowing whether or not we could even comprehend what that God really is. To try and figure out what that possible God might think about a country or a football team or anything else for that matter is so far fetched, you should be more concerned with earthly solutions to the issues we face. You don't want to end up sounding like a kook (e.g. Jerry Falwell, Osama Bin Laden, etc.)

Of course not. Do you really think that God wanted us to fight each other and for innocent children to lose parents they have never even had the chance to meet yet?

If you are referring to our war in Iraq, however, this is a US decision, and we will have to wait to find out how God feels about it...

God helps those etc, etc, etc. We need God, but we also need to stop using the plush toy approach and put on the iron glove.
