Yes you can use both at the same time and I almost always have them both running.

Additionally, if you are running XP and you are either set up for automatic updates or do the updates manually, you'll need IE for anything other than security updates.

Neither IE7 or Firefox are real resource hogs. Firefox requires about 30M of RAM to operate and IE7 requires about 55M of RAM

Everybody has their opinions about each and about this time last year Firefox was more secure and had more options (like tabbed browsing) than IE did. Today, IE7 is an equal to Firefox and they are quite equal to one another as far as security and capabilities are concerned.

Everything I've read from the Tech Sites I'm a member of say they are quite equal. If you were a geek you might have some real preferences but for the casual user you'll note little to no difference between the two in your daily browsing.

Use them both. They are both really good browsers.

Hope this helps.

I often have 3 browsers running simultaneously in XP: IE7, Firefox 1.5 and K-Meleon 1.02

No problems running them all at the same time.

You can flick between the two, you might find that one website that doesn't work in Firefox works in IE- personally I'm not really used to how the buttons are laid out.

stick with firefox for everything. if there is something that wont work in firefox then use IE as a backup. IE is too vulnerable. firefox is safer
