some things yes...but everyone always want more things then they have, i mean thats just human, people always want more, so i mean getting a couple things that you want for your birthday is fine....i mean it is YOUR day!!

Actually I prefer the company of my friends and having a good time for my birthday.
The problem with the statement that you 'should' get what you want is an attitude of entitlement. A rephrase is better - the best gifts are those when you give the person what they want. This much is true.
But you don't really have any business copping an attitude of demanding that people give you things. If something is really important to you, get it yourself. This independence will make you less frustrated and less dependent on what other people do. It would make everyone much happier, you included.

not necessarily.If you want too much, you should get nothing for being greedy. If you are talking about your parents giving you a gift, you should get what they think you need. you should gift your mother for carrying you for 9 months, and pushing you out!
