I have a friend who had her son at 29 weeks. He was very tiny and fragile, but he was a fighter. If this is the case for you, just be prepared to see a tiny baby (obviously 8 months, he will be better off). And also a lot of tubes hooked up to him. I don't think anything can prepare you to actually see it, but just so you know. And be prepared to leave him at the hospital for a while.

Preemies are more susceptible to infections and may run into problems down the road that full-term babies usually don't run into. But I will say that my friends son is a perfectly normal little boy!! He is now 4 1/2 years old and just as normal as any other boy his age.

Just have hope and faith and talk to and touch your child when he arrives...that is most important and will make a huge difference!

The longer you stay pregnant, the better off for your baby. That seems unusual that your baby is laying low...generally they dont get into position until 8 months. Your child can survive, but in all honesty if it is born at 7 months, it will probably have to stay in the hospital for a few months. There are a lot of things that wont be developed fully, and generally a baby gets its weight in the last month of pregnancy. My oldest was born on due date (I was young) and she was 4lbs 9 oz. I vomitted so much through the pregnancy, I think she didn't get the nourishment she needed. I vomitted until the 9th month. My cousin was born at 6 months, and I dont think she was barely 1 lb. She stayed in the hospital for 3 months.

If you can, stay off your feet. If you are young and in school, you might want to do home school until after the baby is born. If you can sit up with your feet up all day, that is what you should do. But my grandmother delivered ALL of her kids at 7 - 8 months and that was back in the 1950's and they all lived.

It is just hard as a new mother seeing your new baby in an incubator with all those tubes and things. If you can deliver at 8 months, you have a better chance at bringing the baby home.

Rest as much as you can, and eat healthy things that are good for you baby. Take your vitamins, drink lots of water, and focus mentally on a normal pregnancy. Our minds can do things to...if you focus too much on the negative, it will only stress you and induce labor more.

Sometimes doctors dont know what the hell they are talking about! Focus on your due date, not when the doctor said you should go into labor.

Having your baby early can cause some problems, however with medical technology today, the risks are much less than they would have been years ago. It has a good chance of survival especially if there are no other complications. At 7 months your baby can be around 3 pounds. At 8 months they can be around 5 pounds. The immune system may be slightly underdeveloped, lungs at 7 months are still premature. The Nervous system is still developing, but with medical help, you have a very good chance of having a small, but healthy baby. Good luck!

Your baby will be fine, so relax. I would make sure that the neonatal ICU is very good at the hospital. It happens all the time!! Or at least at my hospital (which is kinda high-risk L&D), even 24 weekers (after a lengthy stay in the NICU) live, thrive, and do well. Each week the baby developes so much, just hang in there as long as you can. Take it easy, no heavy lifting, and try to stay off your feet.

Risks: Lung developement is still occuring, and they will likely give you steroids to speed this proccess up if early delivery is immenent.

I had my baby at 8 1/2 months. She did spend 7 days in the NICU but she is now3 a healthly and happy 14 1/2 month old who is full of energy.
They will make sure the baby is okay to be born before they just induce you I am sure. dont worry and be strong for your son!!

Good Luck Hun.

By having your baby so early there is nothing to worry about.

trust the doctors and nurses at the facility you go to.

This simply means it is safer for the baby to be born earlier than full term. He/She may need some added care, oxygen etc but it is a normal procedure,

Your baby will be beautiful and healthy no need for you to worry.

Honestly, a lot could be wrong with the baby. I wouldn't see how age as anything to do with it, unless your under like 13-14. As for low, my friend's baby was very low and she even started contractions. They gave her meds and she was odered to best rest her ENTIRE pregnancy. I don't see why you were put on rest or something. I would get a second opinion and fast!

replace medical doctors. do no longer waste it slow or money on a doctor it is hurting you in any way. Your scientific expert should not be yelling at you and that i think like he could have reported that via fact he replaced into letting out his frustrations!! Get a clean scientific expert and point out it. i'm particular while you're exhibiting signs and warning signs the hot scientific expert might attempt for it! solid luck!!
