Women get away with murder (of her husband anyways) because all they have to do is claim that they were abused. The claim doesn't have to be backed up. This does a good job of deflecting the attention away from the woman's behaviour onto the dead guy who can't defend himself.

Am I to take this literally or figuratively? Literally - women don't get away with murder any more than men do. Figuratively speaking, women get away with murder because stupid men let them, and women know it, and take advantage of it. I'm definitely not an advocate of that though - anything that I attain, I want to know that I got there because of my actual hard work or talent, rather than my breasts. Most women however aren't like this.

People have often been adverse to punishing women for murder. Women are also more willing to accept their punishment if they have done something wrong. I'm not saying they get away with murder but less women then men kill for no reason, so people are probably more lenient when it comes to punishment.
