only if the person is on the same internal network (such as in a work place environment) as you... otherwise once you hit the "send" button and it goes over the internet... you have no way of knowing.

If you use MS Outlook, just before u send out the email press Alt+P and a pop up box with options pops up. Check the box request msg recipt and also check box request read msg

Yes check the box that says request a read receipt when you send the email.

If you dont immediately receive a message from "MAILER-DAEMON@________.com", then your email went to someone's account (hopefully that person who you are trying to contact). If you are unsure, then try typing the address again slowly and carefully, and if you dont immediately receive that message, then it went to where your friend told you to send it. =^)
