Where two plates diverge or separate, magma rises and creates a ridge. These typically occur in the "mid oceans" since the crust is very thin compared to continental crust which floats like an iceberg on the moving plate.

This question can't be, because you can't have a divergent(which I assume you mean seductive zone?) and a mid ocean ridge in the same context. A mid ocean ridge is an upwelling of moltant material causing an axial rift and seafloor spreading.
