In some cases they migh but I think overall that our teachers and parents don't get enough respect. DO you disagree or agree with me.

No, not anymore and that's sad.

You know theres a saying that: "Parents bring us to this world fom the skies, but its the teachers who make us aim higher to the skies"

Both need their own share of respect but in today's generation, it lacks because all they can think of is "I, Me and Myself"

Parents get respect when they give respect. Its a learning process that more parents and their family members need to pass down.

As far as teachers...16yrs of schooling..I had respect for all of my teachers and in return got the same.

Thats a huge issue in our home town right now. Its filling up our local newspaper every week. I'm tired of people whining about how they are treated in school and at home. I'm tired of parents complaining their children don't respect their wishes. As the kids grow older and get out on their own, and have children of their own, in time they will understand why their parents did what they did.

Learning process where ever we go and what ever we may do. Give someone a smile and 9/10 times you'll receive a smile back. That also goes with respect!

Born n raised on a dairy farm, youngest of 22 children, raised our own meats and veggies, baked our own bread, used the outhouse and brought water in for baths. And I'm only 42. I was raised here in Indiana where I still am today. And there was no better bringing up then the one I had. The hard times, the fun times and most of all our evenings setting around a hot stove or the kitchen table eatting our bread and milk sometimes with sugar and cinnamon. Howmany families today take the time out of their busy schedules to do just that...set around and talk! No its not a question its a statement that most need to make a ? in their lives.

Respect those you're around everyday and in return they will respect you back. Nothing more needs to be said here..I think I covered it all. So with that I leave you with a smile :) and best wishes on a beautiful crisp 37degree day here from Indiana!

(some are going to wonder is she religious) As my mother put it, you don't have to be in church to thank God for what you have. You don't actually have to thank him at all.. but Mother Nature is the one who needs that respect and the thanks... So before milking the cows and tending to the garden and the daily routines of life, we thanked Mother Nature for what is sent our way. Our animals to be fed and stay healthy, our gardens to grow with all their might. And most of all our well to never run dry!

I agree...parents and teachers aren't getting the respect they deserve. Back when my parents were kids, they treated every adult with respect, even if they didn't like them. Nowadays, kids feel they need to be 'different' and don't need to listen to kids...it's just wrong. KIDS need to use more respect and manners.

They don't get enough respect from society in general. However, I, as a parent, didn't become a parent to be respected by others.

In some cases NO, but in others those badly treated adults get all the respect they deserve.

I believe respect has to be earned. So teachers aren't due any automatically.

But they should be treated with courtesy. Really everyone should be.
