One of my favorite shows, Attack of the Show, on G4 addressed this some time ago. It was for a "Free Ipod." They went through the entire process twice, once choosing a gift certificate, and the other an Ipod. They did in fact receive a gift certificate within sometime, but the iPod took an incredible amount of time to arrive, if i remember correctly. But the catch for any of these free give-away sites is that you have to sign up for some product/service. Although you may get something from it, I would generally say to stay away from these sites to avoid any spam in the form of calls, mail, or email.

hello,

Its really a good question . Here is your answer.

Its both scam and safe too. it depends on product you are talking about.

For an example there are so many free stuffs like cd's ,music, t-shirts , etc are avaible which they do to market there product and make a brand name. so this are all safe until you dont give them your credit card details.

Products like software download, free wares , etc may contain spywares, virus, etc. so that may not be safe.

So you need to find out the credientails of the company and risk depends on product to prodcut.

thank you

Free stuff over the internet is a scam 99.99999999% of the time. Don't even start to believe you will ever get a free cell phone, free laptop, or a million dollars for filling out surveys or such crap.

Think of it this way, it costs MONEY to buy free stuff and to host the site that gives it away FOR FREE. How exactly would these companies stay up and running if they had no profit at all.
