All of you St Louis fans who are whining about Rogers and pine tar, what do you have to say about McGuire and steroids

its getting worse minute by minute, thank God McGuire is not playing cause they would hang him!! Why is Shawne Merriman getting a free ride? thank God he is not playing baseball!!

Well look at it this way... This is the World Series, the biggest event in baseball. Millions of people watch it. Kenny Rogers does an excellent job of pitching. Ofcourse St. Louis fans will complain. No one wants to see their team lose and if they do, there has to be a reason.

You don't play that long, without a little help. Steroids, greenies, etc. -- were ALL an accepted part of the game, when Rogers began, and a Big Cheater was elected into the Hall of Fame when he first broke in (300 Wins) in Gaylord Perry. In fact, if you track Kirby Puckett's first 3 years -- and peek at his rookie card vs. 3 years later... you'd think he's the first to make the Hall in the Steroid Era to escape suspicion (and that, because of his untimely retirement and ultimate death... which you'd THINK would start the suspicion...?? and not end it?).

Pine tar in baseball is like breaking the speed limit. Almost everybody does it and as long as it doesn't get out of control, nobody cares. Everybody is whinning about the stuff on his hand, but he still pitched 7 shutout innings without it. It didn't make a difference and as long as it doesn't become a problem in the future, who cares? Over 60% of pitchures claim they us it. The only benefit it does is help the pitcher keep a grip on the ball so he doesn't throw wild pitches. If I were a hitter, i'd thank him for trying not to hit me!

I don't hear the Cardinals fan supporting McGuire.
One big difference: McGuire was never caught. Mr Rogers was.

Since professional sports began athletes have been cheating and trying to get away with it...common it's part of the fun..pine tar is one thing...steroids are an entirely different situation. Professional athletes...CHILDREN ARE WATCHING YOU! ADMIRING YOU>>>BE RESPONSIBLE! You are being paid Millions of dollars to be junkies! Shame on you!

I say the same thing about Mcguire and steroids as I do about Sosa and steroids, Bonds and all the stuff he is taking, and YOUR guy Rogers. It is all about cheating and money, which is why I don't go to baseball games anymore. All the pro sports are about immature, overpaid boys playing games and cheating. They lie worse than politicians and car salesmen. They are such bad examples of how to be a good athlete, ( never mind just being a good human ) that my boys will only play tennis - the last sport untouched by drugs and people acting stupidly ( other than John McEnroe and Jeff Tarango, neither of them playing anymore).

K. Rogers is a great pitcher without the dirt as demonstrated from 2nd inning on last night! Cardinals fans just need to quit whinning about it like the Yankees and Mets fans did after they lost! I'm a Giants fan and I'm not whinning about their bad season!
