Go to the teacher and explain that you are having a difficult time in her class. Ask her if she can help you get a tutor, give you extra credit work, etc.
The thing with teachers is they will bend over backwards for a student who is motivated to do better.

i had the same problem in high school. the teacher i swear was out to get me. At first i tried to discuss it with her. In my case she just really did not care.
You may want to schedule a meeting time with her or go to her office hours (if in college or private school) and ask her if there is some way she can help you understand the material better, if there is another student in the class that could help you or to see if she could give you a book that explains it all better (depending on the class). Maybe see if extra work or extra credit assignments are offered.
Most of the time if you reach out they are understanding enough. My teacher had a point to prover or something. I had just taken it as an elective to fill my senior year the last semester. She even made me come back to campus the last week (our senior no longer had to come to class the last 2 1/2 weeks on the year) to take the final. The other teachers just let us go without it and used the other grades as our final. As you can see she was a hard nose. Hopefully yours still has a soul.
Good Luck
PS make sure when you approach her it doesn't sound as if you want her to give you the grade. Make it sound like you want to work for the good grade. She may just be a little easier as far as the extra credit.

She's probably strict because she wants everyone to pass with the full understanding of the class subject. Just buckle down, work really hard and think of it as a challenge. Most students do better when challenged. The harder the work and the more creative a person can be. If the world had more teachers, who challenged all of their students, then everyone would have an easier time in college. Hard work is also better for you in the work place.

So she's strict, big deal. Apparently you're not working up to her standards, or you'd be earning that B- you need so much. Maybe you should consider working a little harder instead of blaming the teacher for your woes. Besides, if one little class is going to hurt your GPA that much, it can't be that good to begin with.

Do the work.. Don't avoid it, face it head on. I have a son that is dealing with a teacher that demands a high quality effort.. He had a couple of cousins that failed key course in High school and could not attend the college of their choice because of financial considerations.
Bust hump buddy, your parents are right. Buckup and do the work.. Skating is not an option.

What do you mean, "your parents won't let you"? Are you in high school? If not, you just go and have your class dropped.
If you are in high school, you have no choice. Pay attention in class, do the homework, study hard and get a good grade.

Have you tried actually talking to the teacher? Maybe she would be able to give you some advice as to precisely what she is looking for. Also the fact that you are talking to her would in all likelihood make her see you in a more favourable light, and make her know that you are a serious pupil.

What does the teacher being strict have to do with your grade? Don't screw around in her class, do your work, turn it all in on time. Why can't you get a decent grade?
